Emergency services were called to Potters Bar after a young baby was accidentally locked inside their own home alone.

The police assisted Herts Fire and Rescue officers in Darkes Lane yesterday (April 19) at 10.52am, following which the fire brigade gained entry and the baby was found safe and well.

A fire service spokesman said: “Although this isn’t usually the type of call we would attend, if there is someone in potential danger we would.

“In this particular case it was an infant who was locked inside a property, so an engine from Cheshunt assisted the parent who called us.”
