HORSE stables were quickly evacuated this afternoon after a fire broke out in a nearby field.
Fire engines from WGC and Potters Bar were sent to the blaze on Earls Lane, South Mimms, at 12.08pm today (Thursday), and they are currently still on the scene.
The fire is down to burning straw which the firefighters have now got under control, with no casualties reported.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Highways Agency confirmed the two nearby motorways, M25 and A1(M), are unaffected.
