Police on scene at Sherrardswood School


There was a fire at a portacabin used as a classroom and office at Sherrardswood School, near Welwyn, this morning.

Fire services were called at 6:36am, and four pumps attended the scene. When they arrived the building was “totally alight”, but was extinguished by 7.54am.

Police assisted the fire service with the blaze, which has been initially listed as ‘accidental’.

Fire investigations are currently on-going to determine the exact cause, but the school is still operating as normal.
