FILMING began in Welwyn Garden City this morning (Friday) on a pre-shoot for new movie ‘The World’s End’, which will star Simon Pegg.
Director Edgar Wright was at The Peartree pub in Hollybush Lane, renamed for the film as ‘The First Post’.
Pegg fans, sisters Colette and Laura Barton, who live opposite the film set, said they would never have dreamed a future blockbuster would be filmed where they live.
“Police, Camera, Action I would’ve thought, but not this,” Colette joked.
They were excited to see Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz director Wright in attendance and actors they thought might be playing younger versions of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in a ‘flashback’ scene.
A vintage Ford Capri GT was spotted driving past the pub setting the scene in the late 70s.
