Police release appeal after a man is hit by a car in Hatfield.


A man suffered a fractured knee and dislocated shoulder after being hit by a car in Hatfield.

Between 2.50am and 3.25am on Sunday, February 12, a vehicle was allegedly driven erratically around The Forum car park in Roehyde Way, before being in collision with a man who was standing with three other people.

The man, aged in his 20s, suffered a fractured knee and a dislocated shoulder.

A fight is then alleged to have occurred between the group and the occupants of the vehicle.

A 22-year-old man from Borehamwood was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit and grievous bodily harm.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

PC Jodie Bolton, from the Hatfield Local Crime Unit, said: “Enquiries into the incident are continuing at this stage to establish exactly what happened.

“It is believed that there were a number of people in the area at the time who witnessed the incident and may have also recorded it on their phones.

“If you were in the area at the time and saw the incident, or events leading up to it, please contact police.

“I would also like to speak with anyone who may have seen a vehicle being driven erratically in the area around the times stated.”
