A PETTING zoo of farm animals is visiting a town centre for youngsters to learn more about them.

The free event will take place at White Lion Square in Hatfield on Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

Farmyard pals including: Amy the mini Shetland pony, Hannah and Rebekah the Suffolk sheep and Peppa the Kune Kune pig are all due to visit along with rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks and ducklings, chickens and Naivasha the Labrador.

Councillor Mandy Perkins, executive member for planning, said: “This is a great opportunity for children to learn all about life on the farm, to meet and safely pet the animals, and find out how to take care of them.”

Hand washing facilities or alcohol gel hand wash will be available to wash hands with after petting the animals.

The animals will be provided by Ark Farm, which is based in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire.
