An RSPCA rescue centre near Potters Bar is holding a family fun day and dog show to raise funds for the homeless animals in its care.

The Southridge Centre, in Packhorse Lane, is opening its doors to the public on Sunday, July 16, from 11am.

The day will feature children’s go-karts, classic cars, a dog show, dog agility, stalls, a bouncy castle, a selection of food choices, face and body art, glitter tattoos and more.

It costs £2 to enter your dog into a class, including the egg and spoon race, 100 metre sprint, magic tricks, senior moments, junior top dog, best condition rescue dog, best condition pure bred pup and jumping competitions.

Dogs will receive a rosette up to fifth place.

Entry to the fun day costs £3 for adults and £1 for children under the age of 12.
