SHINE Productions, a new amateur theatre group of over 50 members, brings together people with one common interest: "To deliver high performance shows to audiences".

That was the opinion of founder Ally Cooper, who will lead the cast for the group's first production Fame.

The musical is on at Campus West Theatre in WGC from next Wednesday until Saturday.

Directed by Kate Muir, the show is the story of a diverse group of talented students studying at the New York School of the Performing Arts during the early 1980s.

The success, the struggle, the enthusiasm and talent of the pupils from differing backgrounds and cultures, from auditions to years of hard work and graduation is explored.

Ally said: "I have always had a love for music since completing my course at the Guildhall School of Music and I am really looking forward to Shine's first production."

Also a singing teacher for Centre Stage Performing Arts School in Potters Bar, Ally added: "I have enjoyed seeing such fantastic talent, from the cast who have been successful in securing a place in Fame."

Tickets are from £10.

The show starts at 7.30pm and 2.30pm for the Saturday matinee.
