DESCRIBED in the New Grove Dictionary of Music as "arguably the finest quartet in Britain, playing with poise, excellent balance and a beautiful tone", is the Endellion String Quartet.
The group formed in 1997, will aim to delight audiences with their concert on Saturday in the Campus West Theatre, in WGC.
Starting at 7.45pm, the programme will include Haydn's Quartet Op 76 No 3, Janacek's No 2-Intimate Letters and Beethoven's Quartet Op 59 No 2 (Rasumovsky).
Group members - including violinist Andrew Watkinson, who lives in WGC and is president of the Welwyn Garden Concert Club - have been Quartet in Residence at Cambridge University.
