FORMULA 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has received another coveted award - a Gold Blue Peter badge.

The 24-year-old motor racer whose family home is in Tewin has been awarded Blue Peter's highest accolade.

Lewis, who is already the proud owner of three regular Blue Peter badges, first appeared on the BBC children's programme aged just seven.

The Gold Blue Peter Badge is the show's top honour and is awarded to those who have displayed, amongst other things, exceptional courage, or have represented their country in an international event.

Other famous gold badge winners include the Queen, Harry Potter author JK Rowling and England and AC Milan footballer David Beckham.
