WORLD champion Lewis Hamilton has claimed seventh place in a shortened rain-hit Malaysian Grand Prix.
The race was red flagged after 32 laps and suspended with Herts hero Hamilton in seventh at the end of lap 31.
Conditions were treacherous at the Sepang International Circuit after torrential rain and a thunderstorm battered the track.
Jenson Button was leading when the race was halted to claim his second grand prix victory of the F1 season.
Instead of claiming the normal 10 points, he collects five as less than three-quarters of the grand prix was completed.
BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld was placed second with Toyota's Timo Glock third in a confusing and chaotic finish.
Behind them came Toyota's Jarno Trulli, Button's Brawn GP team-mate Rubens Barrichello and Mark Webber sixth for Red Bull.
The other two drivers in points scoring positions were Vodafone McLaren Mercedes man Hamilton in seventh and Nico Rosberg eighth for Williams.
