A COUNCILLOR accused of wrongdoing has spoken exclusively to the Welwyn & Hatfield Times after being exonerated.
Mum-of-two Sara Johnston was shocked when we revealed she was under investigation, on the eve of the Hertfordshire County Council elections in June.
The 50-year-old was already a Welwyn Hatfield borough councillor but was vying for votes to represent the Haldens division at county level.
She admits she was shaking after reading the story in which her former husband accused her of fiddling benefits and using her position for personal gain.
