MONEY raised at a glamorous dinner organised by a magnificent woman has been presented to charity.

Sue Hart raised over £5,100 for Leukaemia Research and £200 for the Royal British Legion at the Wish Me Luck Ball.

The 32-year-old WGC woman organised the war-time fancy dress bash which took place in October at Tewin Bury Farm.

Entertainment for the evening included a Glenn Miller-style band, and dancing lessons. A three-course meal was also served.

After losing her uncle to the disease Sue, of Ploughmans End, Panshanger, decided it would be a good idea to raise money for Leukaemia Research and enlisted the help of Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps.

She said: "I really appreciate the support from Grant and local companies as it wouldn't have been possible without them.

"Overall, a big thank you goes out to everyone who contributed and purchased a ticket.

"Let's hope this makes a difference to finding a cure for leukaemia."

Mr Shapps said: "Ever since I heard about this project, I knew it was destined to be a great success.

"Sue is full of drive and determination and what she has achieved with this cheque for Leukaemia Research speaks volumes.
