Emergency services are still on the scene in Hatfield after neighbours raised concerns for an elderly man.

Police were called at 3.20pm to Haven Close after neighbours were concerned because their elderly neighbour was not opening the door.

Police got in through the door and managed to cause no damage to it in the process.

Ambulance received a call at 3.27pm to reports that the man had fallen at his home.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We have a rapid response vehicle on scene who were able to gain access to the house via the assistance of the police.

“The man, believed to be in his 70s, is being treated for what is thought to be minor injuries from the fall.

“We are still on scene.”
