AN elderly man has been hospitalised after he hit a stationary car and a bollard in Smallford.

Police closed Station Road after the crash at 10.10am this morning (Friday), roughly 25 minutes after it happened.

Ambulance crews from Potters Bar and Welwyn Garden City attended the scene.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “A man in his 70s is being treated by land and air ambulance crews.”

He has been taken to the Lister Hospital, Stevenage, and the road is still closed.
