TWO teachers from a special needs school in WGC have both been shortlisted for prestigious teaching awards.
Liz Paisley and Jane Rusch from Lakeside School, in Lemsford Lane, have both been named as finalists in the East of England 2010 Teaching Awards.
Mrs Paisley has been shortlisted for the DfE Award for Enterprise, while Mrs Rusch has been nominated in the Royal Air Force for Teacher of the Year in a Primary School category.
Lakeside headteacher Judith Chamberlain paid tribute to the pair, saying: “It is a testament to the quality of their teaching that they have both reached the finals in categories that are not restricted to special needs teaching.”
The awards ceremony will be held at the Rhodes Art Complex in Bishop’s Stortford, on June 24.
