Welwyn Garden City special school triumphs at Teaching Awards

TWO teachers from a WGC school have been honoured at a prestigious awards ceremony today (Thursday).

Lakeside School teachers Liz Paisley and Jane Rusch were both winners at the 2010 East of England Teaching Awards, held this afternoon at the Rhodes Arts Complex in Bishop’s Stortford.

Mrs Paisley, who was also nominated for an award last year, was named winner of the DfE Award for Enterprise.

Mrs Rusch was commended in the Royal Air Force for Teacher of the Year in a Primary School category, but was named winner of the General Teaching Council Award for Excellence in Professional Development.

A spokeswoman for the Lemsford Lane school said: “Everyone at the school is very proud of their achievements. It’s well deserved for both of them.”
