The Ridgeway Academy in Panshanger, formerly Sir Frederic Osborn School, welcomed Lord Lieutenant Robert Voss to the school to celebrate joining the Albans Academies Trust.

The academy has a new uniform and has had an investment of more than one million pounds for a refurbishment programme and new resources.

The Lord Lieutenant was greeted by headteacher Jed Whelan, head boy Satvika Sinha and head girl Megan Nicolson, and attended a celebratory assembly with a musical performance and speeches from pupils.

He said: β€œIt was a pleasure to see such energy and positivity in the school and there was a real sense of pride that the students have in their new academy.”
