The governors of a Welwyn Garden City secondary school have confirmed it will become a self-governing academy next month.
From January 1, Sir Frederic Osborn School will own its own land and assets, and become the direct employer of its staff.
Headteacher Jed Whelan wrote to parents: “We are determined that the change will have a beneficial impact on the school and the opportunities we are able to offer our students.
“The category change will be a seamless transition.”
