Staff and pupils which helped out on International award

Monk’s Walk School has become one of 983 this year to be presented the International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the wider world into the classroom.

The award, managed by the British Council, seeks to develop, recognise and accredit, outstanding practice in the teaching and learning of international issues so that pupils have the skills they need to live and work as global citizens.

Philip Bunn, headteacher, at the Knightsfield school, said: “I am really delighted to receive this award. Everyone at the school has worked extremely hard for this and the award is recognition of all their efforts.

“We can now really call ourselves an International School.”

More than 3,000 International School Awards have been presented since the scheme began in 1999.
