A Welwyn Garden City primary school's new library has been unveiled by Welwyn Hatfield mayor Lynne Sparks.
Holwell Primary School had been without a library for the last four years due to the expansion of the school.
Thanks to additional financial support from the Friends of Holwell and a successful bid for a grant from the Foyle Foundation, the school has now been able to provide a new library for the children.
A school spokesman said: “Though we live in a technological world where information can be collected at a touch of a button, we feel there is nothing more exciting than the touch and smell of a book and losing yourself in the story, being transported with the characters into a different world.
“We intend that the new library will provide good quality books and engaging texts for our children to read.
“We also intend to open the library for parents/families/guardians to come in before or after school to read with their children.”
