Pope Paul Catholic Primary School, in Baker Street, opened its doors to welcome 100 grandparents last week.

Headteacher Liz Heymoz said: “Our school was a hive of activity.

“To celebrate the great feast of Pentecost and the beginning of Spirituality week, the grandparents from our community gathered to enjoy a beautiful assembly acknowledging the many gifts that our grandparents bring and the ways in which they enrich our lives.

“The pupils then shared their memories of their grandparents and proudly showed them their classrooms.”
