Oakmere Primary School, in Chace Avenue, welcomed Lesley Williams to help celebrate a successful year.

Each class in the school from reception to Year 6, enjoyed, dance, stories and song as they celebrated their teamwork and progress with Lesley, their teachers and parents.

Carolyn Hagger, PSHE lead in the school, said: “Her unique style of teaching the children doesn’t feel like learning and yet all the children remember her messages about doing your best and being part of the team.”

On the day Year 3 pupils became pirates and had to work together to create Jack Sparrow’s boat, crew and a desert island.

Lesley returns to the school each term to further build on the pupils’ citizenship skills and develop their self esteem.
