THE Olympic torch is heading to Times Territory later this month.
As part of a bid to integrate the 2012 London Olympics into its curriculum, staff and students at Homerswood Primary and Nursery School in Kirklands, will get their hands on the original 1948 London Olympic torch, when it is brought to the school on Monday, November 14.
A prototype of the 2012 torch will also be brought to the school, while junior sprinter Sam Watts and Rebecca Bull, a youth star at Arsenal Ladies, will be on hand to inspire the young pupils.
“We want to integrate the spirit of the Olympics into our curriculum,” said deputy head Gary Hawkins.
