A member of the House of Lords visited a Brookmans Park school to encourage students to become more engaged with politics.
Chancellor’s School hosted Lord Balfe, who met with GCSE and sixth form pupils for an hour-long talk about the House of Lords, followed by a question and answer session on life at Westminster.
Mr Sylvester, history and politics teacher at Chancellor’s School, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to interact with someone who knows the parliamentary system inside out, as it can sometimes seem far removed from their daily lives.”
The visit was arranged through the Peers in Schools programme, which involves House of Lords members visiting schools across the country.
