A Hertfordshire student and his team were knocked out of highbrow BBC quiz University Challenge last night (Monday).
Jack Alexander, from Hertford, and his York University team won praise from quizmaster Jeremy Paxman for being “a strong team”.
But the mathematics student and his team ultimately lost to Durham University by 210 points to 160.
Questions asked included pop music inspired by Pachelbel, football clubs with mythological names and musical instruments made from organic material.
