More than 700 Hatfield school pupils greeted the news of their school’s triumphant inspection report with gasps, cheers and applause.
Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School headteacher Theodora Nickson assembled all 721 pupils in the main hall before proudly displaying a graphic showing Ofsted inspectors had judged it “outstanding”, not just overall, but in each of their five categories.
She told the assembled pupils on Monday: “There is no school without you. That is why I wanted you to know first.”
