GIRLS at a Hatfield school definitely had "stars" in their eyes today.
For numerous A* grades were the order of the day at Bishop's Hatfield Girls' School.
Headteacher Theodora Nickson said: "A brilliant set of results which reflect all the hard work put in by the girls and their teachers.
"There were ecstatic scenes of joy and lots of tears of happiness as girls collected their results this morning.
"Overall, we had 67 per cent of girls achieving five A*-C grades but most importantly 66 per cent achieving five A*-C grades including English and maths, which is the figure the Government is monitoring this year.
"We congratulate every girl's achievement. With 27 per cent of our grades overall being A* and A, this promises an exciting two years ahead as the girls aim even higher and strive for future A-level success."
High-performers were Samantha Brendish and Hannah Pritchard, who both achieved 10 A* and one A grades, Mhairi Montgomery got seven A* and three A grades, while Dzifa Kodjokuma, Laura Pritchard and Susie Whaites each achieved six A* and four A grades
The Pritchard family especially will be pleased with twins Hannah and Laura's success.
