THERE'S joy at Onslow St Audrey's School this morning as pupils pick up an impressive set of results.

Overall, GCSE results improved significantly on last year at the Hatfield school, with 60 per cent of students achieving five or more A*-C passes.

Headteacher Paul Meredith said: "The number of passes including English and mathematics was slightly down on the 2007 figure, but the overall 60 per cent figure is very impressive.

"We are particularly pleased that 11 per cent of the year group achieved 10, 11, 12 or 13 GCSE passes at A*-C.

"I am also delighted that of all the examinations taken by our Year 11 students, 14 per cent were A* or A grade passes.

"With last week's exceptional A-level results, this is another record-breaking year at Onslow St Audrey's School.

"Students should and their teachers are to be congratulated.
