Striking teachers have disrupted education for hundreds of pupils in Welwyn Hatfield today, and one school is closed completely.

Thanks to a nationwide protest by the National Union of Teachers over pay, workload and pensions, just Years 11, 12, and 13 are attending Stanborough and Monk’s Walk schools in WGC, and Chancellor’s in Brookmans Park.

Onslow St Audrey’s School in Hatfield is open despite the absence of some teachers.

Although the great majority of junior schools are unaffected, de Havilland Primary School in Travellers Lane, Hatfield is out of action entirely.
