IF any computers at one Potters Bar primary school need fixing this year, staff will know exactly who to turn to.

For at the end of the last term, Year 5 and 6 pupils at Little Heath School set about building their own computers, for the ICT suite.

Teacher Maria Zegallo told the Potters Bar Edition the school’s old machines were long overdue being replaced, and staff wanted to find a way of including the children in the process, other than just fundraising.

She said: “Chris Tufnell, the son of one of the teachers at the school, helped the children put the computers together.

“In total, 28 children built 14 computers during the day and signed their names on the inside of the case.

“The children were completely engrossed and thrilled to be part of the project.

“And, as a bonus, if a computer breaks down we will all know who built it!”

Mrs Zegallo added thanks were due to the school’s PTA for not only funding the project, but “putting their trust” in the skills of the pupils.
