A Brookmans Park school has submitted plans for several new sports facilities and classrooms.
Chancellor’s School wants to build a sports hall with associated changing rooms, as well as four hard play sports pitches.
It also hopes to construct seven new classrooms where it currently has a tennis court, have two mobile classrooms for the duration of the project, and install 33 more parking spaces.
In its submission to Welwyn Hatfield Council, the school says there will be increased demand for spaces over the next few years, which will start with having an additional 30 pupils in each year from September 2019 onwards.
Chancellor’s said that “overcrowding is prevalent throughout the school”, adding the plans provide much-needed teaching facilities, as well as school places to help ease the deficit in Hertfordshire.
