A NEW footpath has been opened in a Times Territory village, so that children and parents can walk safely to school.
Students at St Michael’s School in Woolmer Green tried out the new all-weather path from the village hall in Hall Lane to the school in London Road, at an opening ceremony on July 1.
Headteacher Brendan Mallon cut the ribbon, and pupils formed a walking bus to christen the new route.
Parish councillor Judith Watson said: “An all-weather path has been created from the car park at the village hall to the entrance to Twin Foxes. This will allow parents to park safely at the village hall and walk the children the short distance to St Michael’s School.
“We are grateful to the residents of Twin Foxes for allowing the children access across their land.”
