EASTENDERS star Thomas Law swapped Albert Square for a village green, as he turned on the Christmas lights.

The youngster, who plays Peter Beale in the BBC soap, joined 300 residents who braved the cold in Brookmans Park.

Members of the Rotary Club served mince pies donated by Brookmans Bakery, sausage rolls donated by Michael's Butchers, mulled wine donated by The Brookmans and hot chocolate.

Over £500 was raised on the night in aid of Mercy Ships and other charities supported by Rotary.
