Duo charged in connection with Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield thefts

Two Welwyn Garden City residents have been charged in connection with recent thefts.

Two people have been charged with in connection with a series of thefts in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield.

Louise Ward, 28, of Amwell Common, Welwyn Garden City, and James Sullivan, 33, of Chambers Grove, Welwyn Garden City, were arrested on April 15 in connection with two thefts of number plate offences, two thefts of fuel and the theft of perfume.

The number plate thefts are alleged to have happened in Bishops Rise, Hatfield, and Sweet Briar, Welwyn Garden City, during March and April.

The fuel theft is alleged to have happened at the Esso Petrol Station in Bridge Road East during the same months.

The couple were also charged with a shoplifting offence from Boots in the Howard Centre in March.

Ward and Sullivan were both released on police bail and are due to return to St Albans Magistrates’ Court on May 17.
