Drugs seized in Knebworth

COCAINE with a street value of £7,500 was seized during a raid at a home in a sleepy village.

A dawn raid was carried out at the flat, situated close to Knebworth railway station, on Thursday, and more than £9,000 in cash was also confiscated.

One eyewitness told the WHT he saw officers and a police dog in Kerr Close. He said evidence was being bagged up and put into police vehicles to be taken away.

*Tony Nunley, 35, of Kerr Close, Knebworth, was charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug and possession of criminal property. He was remanded in custody and will appear before magistrates today (Wednesday).

A 19-year-old woman from Welwyn and a 35-year-old man from WGC were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, possession of criminal property and concealing criminal property.

They were both released on police bail until October 28.
