A BURGEONING pharmaceutical company has moved to Times Territory in order to continue its already rapid growth.

Heptares Therapeutics, which develops drugs to treat diseases such as Parkinson's and diabetes, has relocated to WGC.

Founded in 2007, Heptares quickly outgrew its original headquarters in North London, and having raised 21m from private investors, switched to its new, larger headquarters at BioPark, in Broadwater Road.

Heptares chief executive Dr Malcolm Weir said: "We are pleased to move to the WGC BioPark, which provides a first-class research environment within easy reach of London and Cambridge, where we retain excellent scientific links.

"We are in the early stages of developing drugs to treat diseases such as Parkinson's and diabetes."

The company, which currently employs 15 people, is planning to more than double its workforce over the next year.
