Driver left with serious injuries after four-vehicle Watton-at-Stone crash

A man has been left with serious injuries after a four-vehicle crash in Watton-at-Stone.
The collision took place at around 10.55am yesterday (Thursday), on the A602.
A silver Mercedes C220 was travelling behind a red convertible Audi TT, from the direction of Stevenage towards Hertford, when it was in a collision with a red Audi A4 that was travelling in the opposite direction.
A white Mercedes panel van travelling from the direction of Stevenage was then in collision with the Audi A4.
The driver of the Audi A4, a man in his 20s from Stevenage, received serious injuries and was taken to Lister hospital.
The driver of the van, also a man in his 20s from Stevenage, received slight injuries and was taken to Lister Hospital. The other drivers were not injured.
The road was closed between where the A602 joins with Ware Road and Watton-at-Stone High Street until 1.20pm.
PC Felicity Moody from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “We would like to establish the exact circumstances of what happened and as such would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it. Anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the incident should contact me.”
