A silver Honda Jazz travelling north was involved in a collision with a blue Renault Scenic at about 9.15am just past Junction 6 (The Clock).
One driver was unharmed, but a woman whose car hit the central reservation was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage with injuries described by paramedics as “non life-threatening”.
One lane of the motorway was opened by police by 10am, but the whole carriageway was not cleared until about 10.45am.
