A MAN was arrested for drink-driving after he crashed his car into a barrier on the A1(M) on Sunday.

The 44-year-old was travelling northbound on the motorway's hard shoulder between junctions four, Hatfield, and six, Welwyn, when he lost control of his blue Alexis Estate at around 4.30am.

No one was injured.

The man, from St Albans, was charged with driving above the legal limit and is due to appear before magistrates next month.
