A FORMER car showroom is set to be transformed into a housing development after plans were given the thumbs up by councillors.
Welwyn Hatfield Council’s planning control committee granted permission to developer Taylor Wimpey’s proposals to build 38 homes on the site of the former Welwyn Ford garage.
A total of 27 three-bedroom and 11 four-bedroom houses, together with associated parking and a play area, will now constructed at the site, which is bordered by London Road and the Welwyn By Pass Road.
