The money was raised through a number of activities including collections at supermarkets and shopping centres, managing charity collection boxes in local businesses and by organising a special Christmas event.

The Supporter Group members would like to thank everyone within Welwyn, Hatfield and the surrounding areas who has supported their fundraising by donating, attending events and giving up their time.

Stephanie Lawless, Community Fundraising Manager at Dogs for Good’s Banbury headquarters, said “We’re very grateful to all the group members for their hard work raising these desperately needed funds and especially for helping to spread the word about our new name and identity.

Dogs for Good, which used to be called Dogs for the Disabled, is a charity which explores ways dogs can help people overcome specific challenges and enrich and improve lives and communities.

Its assistance dogs support adults and children with a range of disabilities and also children with autism.
