A SEVERELY emaciated dog has been found dead while tied to a tree.

The Norfolk Terrier was found at 11.30am on Tuesday last week in a field between Holwell Lane and Low Road – the B158 – in Hatfield.

James Bromley, an RSPCA inspector for the eastern region, told the Welwyn Hatfield Times they were searching for the owner of the black and tan coloured dog and would like anyone to come forward with information.

Herts police are also currently investigating.

A spokeswoman said: “We have been liaising with the RSPCA and an investigation is currently ongoing, but anyone with any information should call Pc Edel Bosowitz on 0845 33 00 222.”
