CHILDREN at a Potters Bar school have been encouraged to walk to class by a very special guest.

Buster, a 6ft tall green and yellow dinosaur, visited Cranborne Primary School in Laurel Fields, to promote the school's walking bus programme.

The scheme allows children to walk to and from school twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Deputy head Koula Christofides-Quinn said the school had asked Buster, who lives at county hall in Hertford, to visit to try and encourage more children to join the walking bus.

"We don't have as many as we would like," she said.

She added the scheme would help reduce congestion outside the school and promote a healthier lifestyle for the children.
