It proved to be a day to remember for a Digswell dog breeder after her four-year-old Borzoi Sunny put his best paw forward to claim a prestigious prize at Crufts 2017.

Sunny made sure to take a starring role alongside owner Alma Abrahams, walking away with the Best of Breed award.

Alma, 57, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon, I can’t put it into words.

“I’m very emotional. I know the judge quite liked Sunny, she judged him once before in competition and said she liked him.

“But whatever you’re up against first time when the judge likes him, you don’t know what it’s going to be like the second time.

“Dogs from all over the country and all over the world have come to Crufts it is an incredible occasion.

“I didn’t expect it and to beat the dogs that we did beat is amazing, because there was some fantastic dogs in his class.”
