BURGLARIES at a disused hotel sparked a response from detectives yesterday (Monday).

Police are investigating two raids at the Bush Hall Hotel in Mill Green.

Sometime between 6.30pm on April 17 and 9.20am the next day, crooks broke in to the hotel and stole a flat screen TV before fleeing.

Also, sometime between Saturday and 7.15am yesterday, raiders forced entry to outbuildings to the rear of the hotel and to the hotel itself.

They damaged windows, glass doors and furniture before escaping.

Then at around 3pm yesterday, police received that men were “acting suspiciously” at the site.

An eyewitness said “eight or nine police cars” descended on the scene, officers then combed the area.

• A 16 year-old-boy and 29-year-old man, both from Hatfield, were arrested on suspicion of burglary. Both have been released on police bail while investigations continue.
