Planners have officially released the first artistic impression of their updated proposals for Welwyn Garden City’s former Shredded Wheat factory.

The Broadwater Road site has been earmarked for around 1,500 homes, a wellness centre and community facilities.

Designers have today unveiled a sketch (pictured) of the plans, which will be displayed in full at public exhibitions in Welwyn Garden City tomorrow and Thursday.

John West, development manager for ZM Land, said: “We appreciate that this is a hugely important site for WGC and will be bringing forward exciting proposals.

“We are also in the process of demolishing parts of the site and are keen to ensure local residents are kept informed.”
