A deer was rescued by Welwyn Garden City firefighting crews this morning (May 23).

At about 6.15am, they were called to the animal stuck in railings on Hilly Fields, by Panshanger.

In a separate incident, Potters Bar crews were called at about 9.20pm yesterday (May 22), along with firefighters from Borehamwood, to a kitchen fire on Cobb Close.

The fire was out on arrival, so they ventilated the property instead.
