Deer killed following crash near Hatfield

One lane was closed on a main road leading to Hatfield after a deer died in a collision.

Police were called at 11.37pm yesterday to reports of a car colliding with a deer on the A414 while approaching the junction of the A1000 for Hatfield.

The driver received no injuries, but the deer was killed on impact.

One lane was closed by police while the car, a white Mazda 3, was recovered.

The lane was reopened at 12.51am.
