Police are hunting a man who subjected a woman to a frightening assault after riding his bike into her in Welwyn Garden City.

The man grabbed a woman in her 30s round the neck and pushed her after riding into her as she walked along Peartree Lane at about 2.30pm on Wednesday, March 1.

PC Fabian Stratton-Heath said: “I am keen to speak to a man who was walking his dog along Peartree Lane and came to the woman’s aid after the assault, as he may have key information that could assist the ongoing investigation.

“I would also urge anyone else who believes they may have information that could help police with their enquiries to please contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference B1/17/869.”

The cyclist was wearing a grey fleece, jeans and a red backpack.
